Biography
Joze Senegacnik has nineteen years experience in working with Oracle products. He started in 1988 to work with Oracle version 4. He is an international speaker, DBA and performance tuning specialist. For many years, he has been a member of the Slovenian Oracle Users Group (SIOUG) board. He is a regular speaker in all important Oracle Users Group events worldwide.

Partition Pruning
Abstract
When querying data in the partitioned table, it is possible to minimize any table scans to only those partitions containing the required rows. The Oracle optimizer attempts to eliminate unnecessary partitions from operations, thus reducing the amount of data to be scanned, and provides performance benefits. In this presentation, we will discuss possible ways of partition pruning.
