Presentation Title

Guerilla Database Tuning

Abstract

Suppose it's necessary to evaluate ten to twenty Oracle databases a week from sites around the world, which it's not possible to have remote access to; everything needs to be requested and implemented through intermediaries, many of which have limited Oracle knowledge. What should be requested, how should the data be filtere/evaluated and then decisions arrived at for making changes that will be applied directly to a production database? This is the outline of the challenge that the presenter has been facing for the last decade. He has evaluated thousands of production systems and developed a streamlined evaluation process which is covered in the presentation.
