Kyle Towle is a returning Hotsos Symposium presenter.
Biography
Kyle is the technical lead for the database engineering team at Paypal, and a senior member of the technical staff. He is an expert in VLDB performance, scalability and high availability. Kyle has previously presented at Hotsos in 2009 and OOW in 2010.

Scaling VLDB's with 11gR2
Abstract
The PayPal database environment is one of the most demanding in the world. Most of our databases are VLDB OLTP systems with high performance and high availability requirements that grow 40-70% every year. We recently migrated our largest and most critical systems to 11gR2 in 2011. This paper is about sharing our results, how-to's and to demonstrate some of the features of 11gR2 that we are utilizing to enable success in our demanding environment. RAC, Dataguard and Database Flash Cache will be covered in this presentation.
