Presentation Title

Troubleshooting the Most Complex Oracle Performance Problem I've Ever Seen

Abstract

This year, Tanel will be presenting a case study of troubleshooting the most complex performance problem he has ever seen (to date, of course). This problem involved short, but extreme CPU utilization spikes, multiple Oracle database bugs and an application server configuration issue. These issues all "acted" together, resulting in frequent service loss of a critical 24x7 application. Tanel will walk you through the troubleshooting sequence and explain the findings from performance data. Also, he will present the lessons learned and advice on how to systematically troubleshoot sporadic performance spikes.
