Cary Millsap
Cary Millsap is the Chief Technology Officer of Hotsos Enterprises, Ltd, where he serves as an author, teacher, consultant, designer, and developer within the company's portfolio of software products and educational services. He wrote Optimizing Oracle Performance (O'Reilly 2003), for which he and co-author Jeff Holt were named Oracle Magazine's 2004 "Oracle Author of the Year."
Prior to co-founding Hotsos in 1999, he served for ten years at Oracle Corporation as one of the company's leading system performance experts. At Oracle, he founded and served as vice president of the 80-person System Performance Group. He has educated thousands of Oracle consultants, support analysts, developers, and customers in the optimal use of Oracle technology through commitment to writing, teaching, and speaking at public events.
Gary Goodman
Mr. Goodman has more than twenty years of experience in the IT industry and has worked with Oracle databases since 1986. Prior to co-founding Hotsos in 1999, he spent eight years in the consulting group at Oracle Corporation in a variety of management roles. He specializes in teaching subject matter that combines performance technology with aspects of project leadership and department management.
Karen Morton
Ms. Morton is the lead designer and developer of the Hotsos SQL Optimization curriculum. She has over 20 years of experience in relational database management systems, including fourteen years of experience working with Oracle. She is the co-author of several Oracle training coursebooks and has taught hundreds of individuals in many Oracle topic areas. Prior to joining Hotsos, she owned her own Oracle training and consulting business. The business focused on mentoring individuals and small groups to improve database administration, manageability, and performance. She also conducted large group Oracle trainings for all levels from beginner to advanced.
Larry Klein
Mr. Klein offers more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology, including more than nine years at Oracle Corporation. He has held a variety of positions as IT director, consultant, and vendor representative, including the responsibilities of systems software support and development; training; performance engineering; systems architecture; application implementation; and project, staff, and operations management.
Ric Van Dyke
Mr. Van Dyke has 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He worked as a developer and database administrator with Oracle starting with Version 6. Mr. Van Dyke worked for Oracle Corporation for 10 years primarily as a core database instructor where he taught and developed several courses. Mr. Van Dyke also served in the Advanced Technologies Services consulting group as a technical manager where he worked with several clients doing RAC installs and performance engagements. His primary role at Hotsos is as an instructor, but he also does performance consulting engagements and frequently speaks at local user group meetings.
Monty Orme
Mr. Orme has over 16 years of experience with relational database management, including 11 years working for Oracle Corporation. During his tenure with Oracle, he was an instructor and course developer for Oracle University, support analyst for Global Information Technology and Technical Manager for Oracle Consulting Services.
