Pronunciation and Spelling
Hotsos, pronounced “hot sauce,” is spelled either with an initial capital letter (Hotsos), or all in lowercase (hotsos.com). “Hotsos” is not an acronym. The spelling “HotSOS” and the pronunciation “hot S.O.S.” are incorrect.
The Story Behind “Hotsos”
Hotsos is a name concocted in the spirit of names like Google and Corio. However, the name does have hidden meaning. At Oracle Corporation, Cary Millsap's System Performance Group was renowned as one of the premier collections of Oracle performance expertise in the world. Many of the team members enjoyed searching for the hottest spices they could find at curry houses, Mexican restaurants, and sushi bars. Apparently something about performance optimization and foods that auto-metabolize just go together.
Hotsos amplifies the culinary tradition by inviting customers to Dinner with Hotsos during consulting visits and educational events. While we don't expect our customers to eat as adventurously as we do, we're always on the lookout for restaurants that know how to prepare foods that can defend themselves.
